Applying for a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is a simple online process. No embassy or consulate visit and no physical document submission.

Before beginning, confirm that your passport is issued by a country eligible for UK ETA and intended travel purpose is covered by the eTA.

2 documents are required for the online application.

Passport Bio Page: Submit clear scan copy of the passport bio page. While travelling use the same passport.
Recent Photograph: A clear, front-facing digital photograph with a plain, light-coloured background.

An active email address (to receive regular status updates and approved eTA) and accepted payment method (to pay the eTA fee) are also required.

Can UK eTA application be submitted through a mobile phone?

Yes. The online eTA application platform can be accessed through a mobile phone having a good internet connection.

What if the incorrect details are entered in the application form?

The applicants are advised to check the application details before submitting the application. However if they found any mistake post submission, they must contact the Uk eTA support immediately.

Can I travel immediately after submitting the application?

The applicant can only travel to UK once they have received the approved eTA.

Applying for More Than One Traveller?

‘Add Applicant’ feature allows applicants to include up to 10 travellers in one application session.

Each traveller must have:

Their own documents required for UK eTA application.
Correct personal and passport details.
An individual UK ETA application and approval.

The applicable fee is charged separately for every traveller. However, the eTA fee for all the added applicant can be paid at once.

Once Your UK ETA Is Approved

Approval confirmation is delivered to the registered email address.

The approved ETA is electronically linked to the passport used during the application. Travellers can print a copy of the approved eTA for travel.

UK eTA is valid for 2 years, or until the passport expires whichever comes first. The traveller can enter UK multiple times and stay for upto 6 months per visit.
